About Carter Farms
Carter Angus Farms started in the 1960’s in Jasper, TN by Bobby “Brad” Carter. Today Daniel and Rachel Carter raise approximately 75 registered Angus cattle and 60 Khatadin “meat” sheep on approximately 200 acres of pasture with 22 paddocks on 2 farms. Our primary focus is to sell yearling bulls with quality genetics at affordable prices to local cattle producers in the Sequatchie Valley and Cumberland Plateau. All our young bulls will meet the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program’s (TAEP) EPD requirements (See Tips on Buying a Bull).
In addition, we are placing particular emphasis on Rib-Eye EPD’s as we retain and finish steers to sell for meat to select customers on a seasonal basis.

EPD's are technically known as Expected Progeny Differences which is a prediction of how future off-spring of the bull will perform based on other animals of the same breed.
Daniel recognized there was a growing market for fresh, locally grown food in the Chattanooga
region and decided to acquire a meat license to sell Carter Farm lamb and beef.
